Fear Not, You Are Mine!

Is. 43:1-7 (NKJV)

Have you ever felt like the story of your life has become too overwhelming? Everyday life is more than you can handle and recent events in your life seem to be sucking the life out of you. You start to dwell on everything and fear sets in. The fear that you can’t handle it anymore, you are not strong enough to make it through this, it’s tougher than you thought it would be.

When we are at those points in our life, it’s then that we have to remind ourselves that we belong to the Lord! We are His! He is not going to leave us or forsake us and there is nothing that He can’t handle. We need to hear the voice of the Lord saying, “You Are Mine!”

Let’s look at Is. 43:1-7 and see what the Lord has to remind us today.

  1. When life seems like a river that is overwhelming you, remember, You Are Mine! (V.2)
Isaiah refers to a river overflowing as if the waters have risen to more than the banks can hold and the waters are overflowing the banks. To us today that is an illustrative picture of the demands of life accumulating to more than we can handle. It’s when you feel like you don’t even have time to cut your toenails. It’s at those points in our life that we need to remember who we belong to and nothing is too much for the Lord to handle. He will not let you be overwhelmed. He will take you through this.
  2. When life seems like a fire that is consuming you, remember, You Are Mine! (V.2)
Isaiah refers to a fire that is raging and feels as if it is going to consume you. This is at points when we are dealing with things that are dramatic like divorce and consuming debts. When we are at this point, we need to remember that the Lord can supply all our needs according to His riches.

No matter what you are facing, remember that you are not alone, but you are the Lord’s!
