In 1994 Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for a photo he took in Sudan during the hunger crisis. The photo was a small child lying on the ground in hunger with a vulture in the background watching. This photo touched many lives to the crisis there in Sudan.
In Matt. 9, Jesus is trying to connect with us to the crisis of lost people in the world.
Let’s look at the scripture and see what Jesus wants us to learn:
- Jesus wants us to see something very important.
Jesus saw the multitude and their lost condition. He wants us to see the same thing today. - Jesus wants us to feel something about the lost.
Jesus felt compassion for the lost condition of the people. Do you feel that compassion for the lost around you? - Jesus wants us to know something about the lostness.
The people were desperate and needed their help. There are 7.7 billion people in the world today and many will never know Jesus without your witness. - Jesus wants us to do something about the lostness around us.
Jesus wants us to pray and participate in reaching the lost.
What are you feeling today about the lost around you?
