Ephesians 4:17-32 (NKJV)
Sometimes you hear of someone referred to as being, tender-hearted. When you hear that, you usually think of that person being sensitive to what people say to them or sensitive to other people in need. In the scriptures today, we are told that as Christians we are to be tender-hearted. Leading up to that statement, we are told to be renewed in the spirit of our mind to put off the old and put on the new and to be like God. To be like God, we have to tender our hearts and get rid of the fleshly way of thinking and feeling.
You can tell that a person is becoming more like Christ when they show tenderness of heart in these areas:
- Tenderness in showing compassion to others.
a. Kindness
b. Fair treatment
c. Forgiveness - Tenderness in our conduct with others.
a. Language
b. Temperament
c. Honesty
Is there a need to tender your heart to have a heart like God’s?
